Just as the title says, automation and wires can help make bases much more functional and efficient. Automation could mean motors could be added, leading to more things such as, modular 'barricades', elevators, automatic doors/garages and conveyors. You could use 6 elevator platforms to make a one large platform to lift a helicopter through a large hatch on top of your base.

Wires on the other hand can prevent other players from stealing electricity from your generator. Wires can also make switches a thing so you could automatically control a door from a control center, or be really creative and make a fully functional bulldozer.

I've come up with a list that could be introduced into Unturned:

Motor(s) - Could be place on a wall or on a roof piece. Make an adjacent structure piece a moving wall or roof.

(Non)Modular Elevators - Basically a floor but with a motor. Could bring the creation of 'height adjustable' platforms for helipads and boat ramp.

Support Beams? - Placed among the edges of a wall or roof to make it one large piece. Handy for those helipads.

Wires - Can be placed on structures and connect with other wires and automated pieces.

    Battery - Stores electricity.

Solar Panel - Alternate source of energy, could also work as a sensor (Automatic closing of windows when dark).

    Switch - Its a switch...

I like the idea, but the elevators won't work because it's the same problem of not being able to stand on moving cars.
And the switch seems kinda useless because you can already turn things on and off.

Fixing the physics could be as easy as adding in several lines of codes, just as like with Battlefield 1. Switches could activate wires so you could for example activate a generator from far away.

If it were that easy, Nelson would have done it by now. In thee past he has mentioned that there are problems preventing him from doing so. And switches could be a cool idea I guess.

Elevators will always have a place in my heart...

Yeah, but what if you could strap yourself into one? (like a seat)

Maybe, probably not a seat but a invisible node where you stand

In theory, the elevator would be similar to makeshift vehicles just with no driver, can't be locked/carjacked and would be removable. just to cover a few bases.

Locked when no power is being received or manually locked with a switch.
